Review Samsung Galaxy Ace

The Ace has a screen off 3,5 inch, the Galaxy S has got a bigger one of 4 inch .Sadly the Ace does not sport a Super Amoled-Screen but a normal TFT-Screen with a resolution off 320 bij 480 pixels. The resolution is 2 times smaller then the Galaxy S.And sadly it doesn't sport Gorilla Glass so Be careful with the screen this one does scratch!

The smaller screen does fit the appearance of the Galaxy Ace nicely .Compared to the Galaxy S the Ace is a little bit smaller .The Ace is in every aspect a little bit smaller accept in the thickness it is a little bit thicker.As for the weight the Ace is just over 5 to 6 grams heavier then the Galaxy S and that was not a heavyweight.As for the battery The Ace has got a less better battery then his big brother.The phones got a battery capacity of 1350 en 1500 mAh .As for the standby time of the Ace it should be 640 Hours according to Samsung. (this is in the 2g mode , in the 3g mode it is 420 hours)

BlackBerry PlayBook

As Research In Motion prepares to report its fiscal second-quarter earnings on Thursday after the market closes, the future of the company and its next-generation products again takes center stage. While estimates for RIM’s second and third quarters are expected by some analysts to beat Wall Street’s consensus, performance of the vendor’s just-released BlackBerry 7 smartphones obviously doesn’t weigh as heavily on the minds of analysts as RIM’s future products and strategy. QNX and its ability to compete with the likes of Apple and Google will be analysts’ focus for the next several quarters, and unfortunately for RIM, the only QNX device it has launched to date is the BlackBerry PlayBook. Read on for more.

Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair believes that there is no “meaningful evidence” that RIM is poised to turn things around. Analysts have lowered their expectations for the second quarter and while that may help the vendor when it reports its earnings on Thursday, it will do little for the company in the long run according to Blair. He also says BlackBerry 7 device sales have been mixed thus far, and though they offer a significant improvement compared to older BlackBerry phones, they “should have come out with 18 – 24 months ago.”

On the PlayBook tablet, Blair’s opinion is even more dour. “Last quarter RIM talked about shipping 500,000 units but did not speak of sell-through for obvious reasons,” the analyst wrote in a note to investors on Wednesday. “Channel fill could turn up another decent shipment number this year in the 500,000 – 700,000 unit range but we believe sell-through has been weak enough that that number will trend down over the year and RIM will likely send the PlayBook into the same graveyard as the HP TouchPad.”

RIM has a lot to prove following its first-quarter results, which missed estimates and were accompanied by news of imminent layoffs. A win on Thursday would be a nice start, but the company must also be focused on instilling investor confidence in RIM’s management, strategy and next-generation QNX platform.

BlackBerry Gemini 9300

First there was “Pluto,” then were was “Magnum,” but now we’re talkin’ about something totally different — Gemini. What’s Gemini you ask? From what we’ve been told, the working model number is 9300, so that’s BlackBerry 9300. As you can imagine, the 9xxx line of BlackBerry devices is for 3G handsets and the Gemini won’t break that tradition. We’re told to think of this as the BlackBerry Curve “3G”. While we don’t have specifics on some of them, here’s a breakdown on what we know, and what specs we’ve got a hold of:

• The screen will be larger than the BlackBerry 8900, and that will also include a higher resolution
• The CPU will also be beefed up. We’re not sure if this means it will include something more powerful than the Bold’s 624MHz processor or not, but we’d like to think so.
• The device is said to be silver (think BlackBerry 8830)
• The keyboard is a little more rounded than the BlackBerry 8900
• The Send/End keys are rounded instead of being flat on the sides
• Styling is not drastically different — it keeps with the 8900/Storm styling
• It of course rocks quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA
• Wi-Fi and GPS was not confirmed, but we’d say there’s about a 99.99% chance
• Camera specs were not confirmed as well, but you can bet you’re looking at 3.2 megapixels or better

Now, what about release date? We have absolutely nothing solid in terms of that. But, want our personal opinion? Q4 ’09/Q1 ’10. We really can’t see this one coming out anytime soon, it’s so far down the pipeline, they just released the current Curve replacement, etc. But it should let you guys know that RIM is obviously looking to transition all their devices to 3G (our opinion, not their words) over the course of the next year or so. Plus one of our only complaints about the 8900 was a lack of 3G, so bring it on!
